Gone Too Soon...Dale Earnhardt 4/29/51-2/18/01

14 years gone in the blink of an eye, but the sadness remains. We miss you Dale, not just here in your hometown, but around the world. Rest in peace my friend.

I remember watching the race and feeling the disbelief. Dale was my driver. Loved by some, hated by others but respected by all I think. My interested in NASCAR started fading with this tragic event. I just couldnt find anyone else I wanted to get behind.
Rest in peace Dale. You helped make NASCAR what it is and you are missed.

I've driven past the track, flown over it more than once, but since that Black Sunday...I'll never set foot there again.

The memories would be too much to deal with, instead I prefer to remember that Sunday in 1998 when we were on top of the world.

I'll never forget the guy standing next to me, dressed head to foot in Gordon gear, pumping his fist in the air and crying like a baby when Dale was saluted by the crews on pit road.

It was a magical day.

He was the best, until the end...

Once his 2 cars. driven by JR & Mikey got out front,
Dale switched from offense to defense.
He tried blocking the field, to ensure a win, by his DEI cars,
& really, got what he deserved, kicked-to-the-curb.

He didn't deserve to die, & I was so sad, & pissed, at the same time,
that his selfish, defensive actions, caused his demise….
