Thank you so much everyone for the kind words. It means alot to us. Looks like my dad will be getting out of the hospital, and we are putting him in a nursing home where he will get the constant care he requires. The doctor says there is nothing more they can do, and it's only a matter of time. He is responsive now but doesn't really act like he knows anyone. It's very difficult to talk to someone you've known all your life and they don't know you. Thank you again for thinking of us and including us in your prayers.

My dad is now out of the hospital and has been placed in the nursing home. He is doing better, though he doesn't know anyone, and isn't really aware of his surroundings. The stroke really took a toll on him. He has been able to use his right arm a bit, and they are trying to teach him to use it to feed himself, but that isn't going very well. He is not able to move his left side at all. We appreciate very much everyones comments and prayers the last few days. It really means alot to us.

As most of us, we have had to deal with the health issue, especially in Rita's case (my wife) and to have to sit there as a person who you have known all of your life suffers is so difficult. I had to deal with Rita not recognizing me after her brain surgery (some might think that was a defense mechanism for her) but it was just short term. We can all pray that your father does recover and you and your family can be comforted by the fact that God has control of this situation and will not abandon you, your family or your father at this terribly difficult time..Good luck, and strong faith to you and yours...Pat
