not too much for mods, it will be the family car for a while, then years down the line I will take it and be my daily driver and get a new family car at that point.

Only mod that is being done right off is I am adding the rear spoiler, and it is at the body shop being painted right now. Wanted it ordered with it, but for what ever stupid reason you cannot get the spoiler option with the Sunburst Orange color choice.

Dark,

Yes I did get them, along with the molded mud flaps. Learned from other cars the damage without can do. This LS rental I have only has the rock gaurd inserts on the rear fenders and they are totally destroyed after 9k miles.

Yeah, but the mods I want will not make the wife happy. And anyone married knows that is the most important thing, Keep the wife happy, and everyone is happy.

I would like to lower it, but I put goldlines on my Z24, and it rides so dam rough, I almost regret it, but the looks is what I was after, so I deal with the harsh ride.

It may get some other mods as we have it for awhile, but for now, I can just enjoy it.

Rat...I too own a Sunburst Orange Metallic HHR. I understand that you don't want to do alot of mods and having been married before I understand that they are not real high on the food chain.

I'd like to suggest a couple inexpensive mods that will improve the look of your HHR.

Running Boards - they are a must. I had mine put on at @ 1500 miles and I was already experiencing sandblasting...but not much since I addressed it right away. (Price depends on what kind of deal you can work with dealer...because for the most part GM doesn't give a rat's behind (excuse the pun)

Pinstriping - that's alot of orange and even something subtle (even taped) will give the car a whole new look. I got tape so I could change it down the road a piece if I want a different look. Cost me @ $70

Window Tinting - For the love of god...I don't understand why they didn't tint the front 2 windows....but they didn't. The car has a much better look when all the windows match. Cost me @ $70

Rear Bumper Guard - Since you have a family and I'm sure you'll be using the rear hatch area a bit...you might want to consider getting something to keep the rear bumper from being scratched when putting things in and out of that area. Mike from SoCalHHR's has a couple really nice units for @ $50 and it will definitely save the bumper from damage. I'll be ordering one in the next day or 2.

Other than that...it's pretty good...but I'm looking at other mods...not going to go overboard...just want to personalize mine so it's different from the few others I have seen.

Enjoy your new HHR...trust me...with that color, you're gonna get alot of looks.

Yeah i understand being married trust been there done that and gonna do it again in a year or 2. My fiance asked the other day WHY cant i leave any vehicle i get original and she doesnt understand till now why. Here is a good way to explain it. I said well its like women who buy makeup you already start with a great base. You just put it on to make your self look even better. Thats why WE do what WE do to our rides. She said ahhh i get it now lol. But you are right keep the wife happy and every one is happy :)
