Not to rub it in, but it was most likely a much smaller engine that 2.2L. Only 2.2L that Honda made was in a last gen Predlude. They are way more expensive than the 1.8L...and the 1.8L take mods waaaaay better. If it was pretty quick, it was most likely a motor swapped EG hatch. Stockers are typically 1.6L with a variety of options (some have vtech, some don't). If it was swapped with a 1.8L out of an Integra + some mods, it's not out of the question for it to be putting down 200hp+ (at the crank). Very easy to do in those little cars. There's also the weight...i'm guessing they are around 2600lbs. Tuning helps our cars, but a tune on a vtech motor does some crazy stuff. The odds of it having NOS are much less likely than bolt on's and a piggy back ecu and/or tune.

Cost effective way to make stiglitz faster...weight reduction!

M62 is a GM supercharger I think they were put on the riviera's and bonnevilles. but may be mistaken. you could probably find a cheap used setup and get a tune. then probably blow away a stock SS with a few extra mods.

I don't want to alter the stock appearance if I can help it.

Enough room under hood to fit a supercharger 1151, nobody would ever know it was there until you disappear in a cloud of tire smoke. You could build up a real "sleeper" and give some of those Honda shaped objects a lesson they'd never forget.
