That makes great sense. I would have loved an HHR in college. I'm no way a conformist, so I spent the eighties ( my college years ) driving Corvairs and '62 Buicks through college.

My Corvair four door was great since the back seat folded into a carrying cargo area. That' sounds familiar doesn't it! My ultimate Corvair for college was the Lakewood wagon. Trunk up front AND out back of the cabin. A perfect College car. Remind you of anything?



Chevy has had some cool cars over the years. Many great for college students!

I know I'm getting old when I want a Corvair Lakewood MORE than my current '64 Convertible!
Meanwhile, an HHR wil do just fine

That Corvair wagon is real similar in size to the HHR.

 

Yeah for me the Corvair was the unsung hero of earlier college cars. Other's may have used Volkswagens and such, but I liked my engine in the rear and little round tail lights!
Never enough interior room for a student with stuff on the go!
