I guess that is why the unionized workers in the Oshawa plant are proud to be one of the best groups of automakers in the world. Their quality and output of quality vehicles are always near the top. Even Honda and Toyota came to view their plants. They were impressed also.

I always get a chuckle how the union factories in all industries drop like flies and all the money hungry union leaders and works go on the local news crying how the evil empire took their jobs lmao. It is not like the companies did not warn them years in advace they could not afford to pay their crazy wages. Oh well, what can you do.

I guess you could complain that the executives were filling their pockets while profits were not made. 7% of GM's cost is through hourly pay. Where is the rest going? Most companies have this problem. Look at the banks paying out bonuses to their execs while getting Bailout money to save their banks. The Execs will blame everyone except themselves. and pass it on to the media and pass it on to all of us, so that everyone can blame the workers.

Cokey, Doc, Mizzou, et al.......

Let it go. This "other person" is playing with us. He obviously has the intelligence to understand the intent of the original post, Initial Quality. He refuses to admit to his initial mistake of failure to recognize that intent.

Most responders will resort to unrelated personal attacks and "slights" (sometimes aggressive and obnoxious profanity) when they cannot successfully provide realistic evidence to support a position. Notice the lack of acknowledgment for initial quality, which is necessary for the first several months of new vehicle ownership. Also notice the lack of ACCURATELY COMPREHENDING other members posts.

On topic ......: One of the reasons for the necessity of high ratings in Initial Quality is to show GM, in house, they are successful at providing a good vehicle off the assembly line.

I believe, if I have read the results correctly, GM will no longer pay the dealer a PREP fee (transparent to the owner)for the new vehicle delivery. It remains a matter of conjecture, if the dealer will try to pass the possible cost to the purchaser. The free tank of gas that GM reimbursed some dealers, will also be withdrawn. Dealers may do this on their own. Obviously financial decisions!!

Lol grasp at straws if you like. I am playing with no one in this thread, just because i have a different opinion than you does not mean I do not have the right to respond to your posts or anyone elses.

Where did you read that? GM still pays for the PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) and they still reimburse for a full tank of gas.

Let me search......see if I can find it. But I believe it is through an agrement with the GM members of the NADA. Don't know if it was supposed to take place yet.

Found the document and misread it. Sent a copy to ChevyMgr. by PM. Disregard my statement in post 54 of this thread, if you already read it. I will also delete it, so there is no confusion. However, I can not delete it from another post that has my quote.

It's almost an "insider" document. But it does resolve some questions that have been posted to this forum. Of course, these GM's decisions are up for questions/criticizm/analysis......again.

What do you think ChevyMgr, should I post it.....to an approriate thread .....or maybe new????

I was half joking. But if you think it is something proprietary, then I wouldn't want you to get someone in trouble.
