With rights come responsiblities. If you do not want the responsibilities, give up the rights.

 

I didn't say that I think it's okay to do it, I just stated that it was (in Iowa) the only way to avoid being called for jury duty. There's no need to say that.

 

Applying for driver's license in Florida will enter you into "jury duty lottery". One ticket I bet no one hopes to have theirs pulled.

Too many people in this country want to go through life not living up to their responsibilities. The rights of Citizenship should be earned not just simply granted.

I.E. Yes you can live in this country if born to at least one parent who is a citizen but you would earn the right to vote by serving in the military, holding public office, doing volunteer work, gaurding the boarder from invasion, etc.

We have become the "Entitled States of America", where everyone believes they are entitled to some unearned benefit. You want prosperity, WORK FOR IT! You want a say in the future of the country, WORK FOR IT!
