Pine straw. Yes. Those are pine trees in that picture. I've got 50-60 of them around the property.

I have a few patches of Bahama grass that drives me absolutely nuts. That's like Centipede it spreads by both stolons and creeping. It will cover a concrete slab by creeping and the stolons can be 6 feet deep. It is absolutely impossible to kill, the only way is to dig the entire root system out and burn it.

It's that stuff the State uses on median strips that overflows onto the roadway. It also harbors gnats.
So, Cliff's Notes: Don thinks this weed came straight from hell, and he has no problem sending it home. Not recommended for any application close to human habitation.

LOL! Don, you are the best! I have no experience, so dis be da Gospel! More LOL!

But folks that live in sandy soil in the hot south love it even more than zoysia. They think fescue is a weed because it tends to clump up in sandy hot conditions.

Many types of fescue. I'm on the border of deep South & South, I have bermuda in back, but I have tall fescue w/ some Kentucky bluegrass in front, on purpose. Looks so lush, when properly maintained.
The bermuda is tough on blades, neighbor cuts it @ 1-1/2" which makes it look dead. I still cut mine @ 3.5" & now @ 4"......

Everyone likes different things.
