I don' think its right to blame sports because of a few thugs. There are plenty of ball players who do alot of good , they just don't get the attention they deserve. What about Derrick Brooks who has brought dozens of kids to Africa and gives out scholarships or Warrick Dunn who gives families the opportunity to own their own homes. There are others but I think I've made my point. I don't think sports are the problem ! I think the problem is the lack of control that teams have to discipline problem players. Maybe the players association needs to take a closer look at this too.

 

Actually it comes down to the character of the man...a team can only do so much. A dirtbag is a dirtbag is a dirtbag...simple....Pacman and Vick are dirtbags...Tiki Barber, Warrick Dunn, Troy Polamalu and Richard Seymour are examples of the anti Pac Mans and Vicks. All star athletes who give back and make a difference

CH, I wish I could believe you. Arthur Blank will spend whatever it takes to make sure that his prize thug stays out of jail, and I'm betting he will get his way. The poor saps that were indicted with Vick will probably end up taking the fall, and then Vick and his PR machine will condemn their actions. Vick will get a tongue lashing from the Falcons and the NFL, then he and the Falcons will announce they are setting up a fund for stray or abused animals and all will be well in the NFL.

To show you how stupid this ball club is, right now the Falcons are floating a paid suspension for Vick to appease the howling masses. Now that's really going to hit him where it hurts, isn't it? Also, the Falcons have put themselves in a very tough position, because they have another player that was arrested for killing his girlfriend's dog and they took no action against him.

What is really unfortunate is that in Atlanta this is turning into a racial situation. All the local TV and radio stations are doing the man on the street interviews and the apathy/scorn fall along racial lines. Don't bet that this thug will be doing any time, and don't bet that he won't be the starting QB for the Falcons this fall. To Arthur Blank it is win at all costs!
