not to be disrespectful but to me he lost his credability a little bit when he did the name change(even tho he is/was talented)... kinda made me think of when they were a "glam" band and changed to make the CFH album and everyone was calling them posers...i mean why change the name just to like "fit in"

At least their first recognized album. I know they have a couple of albums before Power Metal but that is the first one I personally recognize. I don't really care about them before that, without Phil.

in my opinion far beyond driven was the record that made me a pantera fan
but yeah those first three albums were a lil glam

Vulger Display Of Power was the one that got me hooked. There are a lot of bands out there that you have to forget at least one album from their catalog. Like Ministy's album With Sympathy. They turn into one of the coolest industrial/metal bands ever but I think the song Effigy on that album is one of the worst songs I have ever heard!
