I first saw Slayer in 1984, Mountaineers center in Seattle , WA. Black Magic, Final Command, Die by the Sword. AWESOME. Yesterday on the 5th I bought tickets to the Grandfather of all Black Metal Bands - VENOM - Playing Chicago at the "House of Blues" on Aug 25. Props to mentioning Celtic Frost who started out as "Hellhammer". I first saw Iron Maiden in 83, still one of the best shows around. When I saw Celtic Frost, Anthrax opened for them. I saw Mercyful Fate on their first US Tour at the Starry Night Club in Portland. My brother and I started writing letters (back in the day of the fanzine and MRR) in 79 to Corrosion of Conformity. I saw Metallica on their "Kill'em All" tour. Motorhead, Saint Vitus, Exodus, Voi Vod, Destruction, Sodom all these bands get their credit today as great musical influences along with our beloved Slayer!. Yes, Live by the sword and help to contain the helpless minds of you all!

To all my fellow Monarchs to the Kingdom of the Dead -
Happy (is that the right word???) National Day of Slayer!!!
Props to CH to bringing this up - I will have Slayer on the iPod on my desk all day.
Other than that, - Reign in Blood!!! (from a lacerated sky.....)

I've been listening to Slayer all morning. I'm thinking about going for a ride to force everyone to listen to Slayer as I drive. I wonder how many others in my area are celebrating? The only thing that sucks for me is both (hed)pe's and the Kottonmouth Kings new CDs came out today. I have both CDs but can't listen to them.
