Car charger for the phone. Couple bottles of water(dual use - quench thirst and act as temp. coolant), small things to snack on, enough music you want to listen to in order to make it there and back.

I would make sure the tires are within 2 of what they should be. the pressure will go up as you drive so you don't want to over fill them cold because they will then be over...over filled when warm.

Are you traveling alone or will your lovely lady be accompanying you? If alone pack sliced apples, music you know and leave the window down a bit. Get air running on your face when you are tired, apples help keep you awake and sing alone to the music since talking helps to stay awake as well.
So your the guy I see talking/singing to himself while driving down the road?

Singing, not talking lol and hey, if it takes looking crazy to a random person to avoid falling asleep while driving, sing me up!

But in some cases, not even a passenger can keep you awake so get plenty of sleep the night before. I was driving my buddy home after work and I had been up for some 28 hours, 22 of those were spent working, and I was so tired. He was not supposed to be driving due to some previous tickets, but I had to pull over and let him drive the last 10 minutes because I didn't remember half the drive I was nodding in and out the whole time.

Just kidding, I do it as well... in between sticking my head out the window in cold weather to get a quick wake up.

thank you for all the great input guys.. i love this site mainly cause the members here are all nice and care for each other.. as well as we all love HHRs.

I will be traveling with my younger sister and her friend (both 17) and im working on gettin my lovely lady to come along too. So its either going to be me and TWO or THREE girls. lol oh boy

I will make sure to pack plenty of snacks, water, and music (cd's)
Might listen to my cd set of the Bible.. good time to think ya know..

I will make sure my fluids are topped off, tires are properly inflated and
that i get plenty of sleep the night before. i have christmas party at noon
on christmas day with the family, then im going to bed by 9pm that night.
I plan on packing the night before and gettin the car loaded, as well as getting gas the night before too

I think between the three or four of us, we will be able to stay awake and aware, probably swap off on drivers some too, i will drive a majority of it in my own cause i dont want my sis n her friend drivin my car to much. i dont mind if my lady drives it, but she dont like too.. lol

thanks again just pray for my trip if ya wanna

Don't try to make it with limited stops. I work for the military and see young men die every day making that mistake. It's not worth it! Besides, you need to get out of the car occasionally and get the blood flowing to all extremities.

Be careful and enjoy the trip!

all of the above-I've done many epic trips, often solo. Get out and stretch and move around once in a while. I also like to change positions driving too, seat forward/back-change angles etc. rather than keep your body in the exact same position the whole time. As far as traveling with the ladies-I'd suggest some Luther Vandross or whenever possible put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV-oh yeah, but your sis is there-nevermind.
