Nintendo wii feedback needed

My wife has decided that since her new job does not have a gym, she needs to get a wii to help her continue to stay active and exercise.

To her credit, she has been very consistent in working out over the last few months and I've worried about how well she'll do at her new job. Her old one has a gym she used most lunch times.

A few of her friends have recommended wii active. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with it?

Thanks all!

Don't know about Wii Active, but we have a Wii Fitness and my daughter loves it.

Very good!

I have the Wii Fit and the Wii Active.

My wife and I think Active is definitely better than the fit program. You can change the workouts up on the active and there are way more ways to workout, such as rollerblading new boxing stuff, baseball basketbal etc. I would get active first, you will be disappointed iwth the fit program.

Yes, the fit program does have a weight restriction of 330 pounds. Why they picked that #, i dont know.

Do you need anything other than the basic Wii to use Active?

Yes. When you buy the active program you get 1 leg strap thing that hold the nun-chuck and a rubber resistance "thingy" (couldn't think of a better way to descibe it) you will have to buy a 2nd leg strap and rubber thingy separately if you both work out together. I like this because it gets us competitive and makes us work harder.

I think there may be 1 or 2 "activities" that use the balance board, but all the good ones dont.

I highly recommend the active game, it is way better than wii fit. The music is better too.

Wii fit, doesn't really do a good workout in my opinion. In the latest Game Informer MAg there is a write up on all the Wii fitness games available.
