Nice post Deb! I see this as a close series, possibly going 7 games. It's going to be interesting to see how the Rockies handle the long layoff, and how much their timing is affected. One thing going in the Rockies favor is they don't rely just on their bats to win, their pitching and defense is also very solid. Should be a great series. I like the Rockies in 6.

Thanks Doug...this is going to be a great series. The stats speak for themselves and I believe that many people are going to be surprised at the performance of the Rockies. Let the naysayers say what they want, they are just giving the Rockies more drive to play better than they already have. Whether we win the series or not, the people of Colorado and all the other Rockies fans around the nation can stand proud and know that we are true fans who believe in them. Bring on them Sox...we're just as good if not better than them and deserve to be there just as much as they do, if not more. We have only lost 1 game in the last 22 and obviously cleaned up the joint when we played the Sox the last time, so bring it on.

Now Deb, you know as well as I do what happened back in the middle of the regular season has no bearing now...Yanks dominated the Tribe during the season and look where that got them

Sox pitching isn't exactly chopped liver..iirc they led the AL in ERA 3.87 ERA is no easy feat with DH


Rocks are a good team...I like them...in fact if things had gone a little differently the beginning of the year, Helton would be on the Sox and Lowell on the Rockies....Helton WANTED to come to Boston....how weird is that now that they are facing each other.


And about true fans.........be hard pressed to find truer fans than "The Nation" Live and die with those clowns......I went to the first Yanks/Rocks game in June (decked out in Sox gear of course!) and talked to a few fans there...they were happy to finally see the park filled for once even if it was 80% Yankee fans......sounds like they had a hard time filling the park before they were even mentioning playoffs

Honestly can't say there is one guy I don't like on that team,,like Helton, Holladay, Hawpe, Troy, Atkins..all good guys..Kaz...ehhhh he was a Met so closest thing to a bum I don;t like I guess

Nice post Goose. Nice to see a reasonable Sox fan, and not the Rockies suck attitude others have I didn't figure the Rockies would have a very good game tonight. Tall order to beat a pitcher like Beckett after an 8 day lay off, or no lay off for that matter. He has been the best pitcher in post season, of any team. Tomorrow nights game is huge for the Rockies. Hate to say it's a must win in game 2, but they can't go back to Denver trailing 2 games to none. I haven't totally given up on tonight's game, but as long as Beckett is pitching the way he is now, it's going to be tough.

Not looking good tonight...but we have been off for almost 8 days too. Not making excuses, but the Sox have been hot coming from behind to win their division. I think we'll see a different Rockies team on the field tomorrow. I still don't think it's going to be a sweep. I have faith and believe in my Rockies just like you guys believe in your own teams. I am just proud to see our team in the series...that's a feat in itself considering the way our season started.

Yep...can't rally diss the Rocks...I cheered my butt off for them in June so not gonna crap on them now....heck I still like them but of course I gotta cheer for my Sox





Boston area has a good chance to win 3 of the 4 major championships...Sox are in the WS, Pats look like nobody is gonna stop them and the Celtics are looking really good in a bad Eastern Conference...yeah, life is good for New England sports fans

So we lost one game...this is the best of 7...and I don't hear the fat lady singing just yet. If memory serves me right, the Sox were down in the AL championship and came back to win it in 7 games. What makes you so sure the Rockies can't do the same thing? I wouldn't count my chickens too fast if I were you.
