Radiation treatments are finished!!
Woo Hoo!! Radiation treatments are over!! We are grateful this type of treatment is available but it hasn’t come without cost. This week has brought a couple of new side effects -- Tony has temporarily lost his voice completely and he’s also experiencing some sudden unexpected choking spells as a result of the natural function of his throat being disrupted. We acknowledge all of these things are a far cry better than the alternatives that cancer brings, but it doesn’t mean they are any less frustrating and sometimes even frightening to deal with. On a positive note, Tony has found relief in the new pain meds the doctor has started him on. He is much more comfortable in general and although eating is tricky, it is easier. Also, the original pain in his back and shoulders is completely gone and those wicked hiccups have all but vanished. Yesss!!
