You could inherit anything you want and your spouse cannot touch it in divorce--even if the you received the bequest or it increases in value over time during your marriage.
alright, thanks. i will look into before i tie a knot with my lady.

I've already told my girl friend "No Pre-Nup, no marriage" And she brings up a negative out look. To me it's just a CYA policy just in case things do hit the fan for the worse. On top of that, a lot of older guys where I work with have been screwed over by ex wives. Lawyers who know you work for the power company know you have $ and they go after cut throat style. 2 guys here had wives cheat on them and they got half their investments and half their retirement. One ex wife which is re-married now. Pure BS in my opinion, how you gonna commit adultry and then take a man for half???

Was just wondering, guys, if the situation is reversed and you are marrying a professional lady whose income/salary was in the $100,000 or was a Paris Hilton type heiress, would you you still feel the same and sign a pre nup?

Actually, my wife and I have a family trust and it is documented that if either dies and the other wishes to remarry, a pre nup MUST be signed by the new spouse before the marriage can occur. This will ensure the estate that WE worked hard to create, is passed to the surviving blood heirs. So, I kind of believe in them.
