Aren't you supposed to signal and then change lanes when it is safe to do so, hench slow down and then do the lane change. Not try to jamb yourself in. Driving lesson 101

The best defense is to be in the right lane long before you actually have to exit. Of course, that puts you into the position of being able to cut off the driver who is going to get ahead of you to exit from the right lane.

It's the drivers who exit right from the far left lane on Interstate highways that I really have a problem with.

You would think that drivers would think ahead, so they just might know where they are going instead of a spur of the moment. Too many cell phone calls, eating, fixing hair, lipstick, and the list goes on too.

Ditto what he said!

YA'LL TRY DRIVING A TRUCK FOR A LIVIN'. I get in the lane needed MILES before the exit and if I'm not in the right one I'll just go to the next one and do flip around.

I was about 3/4 to 1 mile before the exit with moderate to heavy traffic doing about 40mph. I could not slow down too much with the cars behind me and there was no place to move over behind the car that pulled into the space I could have merged into. I usually let my turn signal flash 3-4 times before starting to move over. At the second flash he/she surged forward. I await your driving lesson 102.
