Time to go
I Would Like To Say Thank You To All Of You That Have Helped Me With All My Questions & Problems. I Am Sorry To Say That I Will No Longer Need Informationn On The HHR, I Traded It In Yesterday. I Just Had Enough With The Nickel & Diming All The Time And That Front-End Issue, I Tried EVERYTHING You All Told Me And After Much, $$$$ Later,
It Was STILL There. So, Now It Will Be Someone Else's Project To Attempt To Conquer. I Am Not A 'Quitter', But I Ran Out Of Things To Repair/Replace. I Will Always Be Grateful For All The Help & Advice You Gave Me Over The Past 8 Months While I Had The HHR.
I Suppose I Will No Longer Have Anything To Discuss Here Anymore, So I Guess This Is Going To Probably Be My Last Post.
Once Again, I Would Like To Thank All Of You Who Were There When I Was Going Out-Of-My-Mind With What To Some Might Have Been 'Simple' Or 'More Complex' Issues I Had. Still, I Did Find It Difficult To Drive Because I Didn't Have Much Room To Be Comfortable Since I Am 6'-2" & Long Legs, No Matter How I tried To Position The Seat, I Could Not Get Comfortable. I'm Sure Some Of You Can Relate. Well, I Guess I Don't Have Much More To Say Except, Maybe Good-Bye & God Bless You All! I Now Must Get Used To Driving A 4X4 Again, (I Must Admit, I Did Miss That!) Since I Now Have A Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I Will Never Forget The Great People I Could Always Count On With My Predicaments.

Yep, sorry to see you go and that you had a problem that wouldn't go away.
It's ironic - I have an 04 Jeep GC Columbia Ed that I truly enjoy and recently purchased an 08 HHR. I like both vehicles, but need to get the power seat fixed on the Jeep - it won't go down. I'm also about 6'2", but I find the HHR very comfortable. Guess we all sit in vehicles a little different.
Good luck in the future.

Sorry to hear that your HHR had to go, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Even though its now down the road and somebody else's problem, don't be a stranger OK. This might be an HHR site, but you don't have to own one anymore to still be a part of the family.
Thanks Guys! I Appreciate Your Replies. By The Way, Since You Mentioned That I Can Still Ask Questions, I Happen To Have One. The Key Fobs For My Jeep Are In Sending Good Signal Strength, (I Had Them Tested) But I Have To be In Front On The Passenger Side About 2 Feet Away For Them to Work & That Is If They Decide To. What Could Possibly Cause That? I Was At A Jeep Dealership That Told Me It Is A Door Module That Costs About $315 Plus An Hour's Labor To Put It In, & I Don't Even Know If That Includes The Reprogramming! Is It WORTH $400 To Have The Luxury Of Just Pushing A Button On Your Keychain To Lock & Unlock Your Vehicle? {Just When I Thought I Was DONE With The 'Let's Try This...'! } I Like The Jeep, It Works Fine Otherwise, So Far, I Just Need to Get Used To The 4 Wheel ABS, Which Gives Me The Vibration When I Brake.
Thanks, But I Had Bought New Batteries Thinking That Was The Problem. I Even Went To My Local Locksmith That Also Deals With Programming Keyfobs, Tried A Brand New One, Still Only Works If I Am In Front passenger Side & With-in 2 Feet, And That Is Only IF They Decide To Work.
Hmmm, interesting, not familiar with the workings and failings of Chrysler remote locking systems enough to suggest what I already have. Have you checked out a forum yet for your model of Jeep, I'm sure that just like here, there will be people who have dealt with the issue you're having.
It could even be something as simple as the module being loose and having a bad chassis ground keeping it from receiving the signal until you're almost on top of it.
It should have tons of range, I had to have the system on my Challenger reprogrammed because it would unlock itself too early. Some Chrysler cars have a proximity system where if you have the fob and get close enough they'll unlock and you can just get in and start it, well my car was sitting unlocked all day across the street in the parking garage....not good especially since someone could have hopped in and pushed the start button....free Challenger!
