Because replacement tires for the HHR is a continual topic on the forum, I thought this article should be noted.....

There is much truth in the old adage "You get what you paid for". Or as my father told me several times"The bitterness of poor quality lasts far longer than the sweetness of low price".
As for Rebel Grey's next set of tires,I am planning on buying either Michelin HydroEdge or Goodyear TripleTred,which will set me back about $700 tax and all.But both are quality tires and should last me about 80 thousand miles hopefully.

Since when is an "ambulance chaser" lawyer a tire expert?
Seriously, in today's world most people have absolutely no idea who makes a tire.
For examples: Firestone is only a name now, part of Bridgestone (Japan). B.F. Goodrich is now part of a company called "MNA Inc.", which is Michelin (France). General is owned by Continental (Germany). If your motto is buy American (yeh, right, you bought a Mexican car!), Goodyear is just about the only remaining U.S. tire company.
Oh, and to add.... In my life, the only catastophic tire failure I've had was a sudden blowout. It was a "top" quality Michelin!

Joe you missed the point of the article. Mr Lawyer wasn't commenting as a tire expert. The point he was making is China's lack of QA and the documented failure of the tires as a result. He also drew a comparison with the recent pet food issue and lead poisoning.
I believe I read someplace, we import more product from Canada than China, but we reject 12-15 times more items from China.....especially in foodstuffs.
