Today is Holocaust remembrance day, it marks the anniversary of the doomed Warsaw ghetto uprising. In Hebrew, Holocaust Remembrance Day is called Yom Hashoah.

If you feel like it, take a moment to think of the over 6million Jews that were killed due to one man's irrational hatred and misplaced nationalism. Also think about the survivors that were left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. You can also think on all the brave men and women from all nations that lost their lives fighting to stop the killing.

I am not a Jew or even religious, but I am a human being and so where these people. They didn't deserve this fate but they do deserve to be remembered so that evil like this may never happen again.

In 1983 I went to Auschwitz, and what I saw there, and heard from the survivors left me shaken to the core. We can never forget what happened, we can never allow it to happen again.
