I have to say we changed the channel at that point and didn't watch it again.

I think the girl from Glee who sang the song before her (sorry forget which it was, god bless america? ) would have done a better more proper job of it.

I'm with 'ya, 843de......

Anyone who is singing the NATIONAL ANTHEM on television with hundreds of millions of people watching better be prepared. You also don't need to impress people with your vocal range. (If you can pull off a neat octave change near the end, go for it..)

She tried to be 'showy' but only succeeded in damaging her reputation.
I recently saw her in 'Burlesque' and she did a respectable job of acting and singing, but this shows me she's not a real professional........

843 - I agree totally......

Snoopy- I remember Roseanne & all her lack of class.........

I think that Christine has been using too much BLEACH on her hair. Fried her few brain cells.

Also:

Can't Say the "Pledge of Allegiance" in schools..

In court no more swearing in on the Bible.

Anyone seeing a pattern here ??????????

GOD Bless AMERICA, we need it !!

Had an e-mail come in from a friend in England about last night's fiasco, he's indignant about it and he's not even American. I would hope that Miss X-Tina if feeling a sense of shame about disrespecting the national anthem of her country, a country where she had the opportunities to become a world wide recording star. But I have the feeling that to her and her handlers its just a joke, something quickly forgotten on the way to the club to party down with Paris and Nikki. Makes me sick, and its just endemic of the larger malaise that infects America.

I agree 100%

on a certain talk show, it was said: cut her a break, she just got nervous & made a mistake.

NO !!! Sorry, either a publicity stunt, or just another bimbo..

No, I'll cut a break to the 15 year old with a good voice who sings the N.A. at your local baseball game. This was the SUPERBOWL, not the minor leagues. Won't be paying for anything that Ms. Aguilera touches from here on out......

So no one can ever make a mistake??? Wow.... high standards....

I don't know why anyone would agree to doing the anthem.... if all goes correctly, you are forgotten (anyone remember who sang last year???) and it isn't like anyone will go buy your albums because of it!

And if you screw up even a little, you are remembered for that alone and people start boycotting your stuff!! *lol*

Maybe if our country had a better national anthem... I mean, it was a tune from an old drinking song.

At least Canada's is a decent sounding song...
