Try GMbuypower.com - you can build any GM model and the inventory is supposed to be updated every 24 hours.

I was responding to SindyDix's post, not the original - she said:

But anyway...

Not true. I found the exact HHR I was looking for 6 weeks ago. Here it listed on the GMBuypower as of 3/28/06:

I called them two weeks ago and they said that vehicle had been sold weeks before. Three other dealerships did a search for me and this vehicle never popped up - so it ain't there despite what the inventory says. It may get updated every 24 hours, but it's accuracy is still in question.

Why it's still listed a month after it was sold remains a mystery...

You're kidding right? Tinted windows are standard.

I found my order on that site and e mailed my dealer just to be sure they don't offer it to someone else or forget about me!

Follow up edit:
My dealer just emailed me about my 'inquery'.
Their reply was in part: "...We won't sell your car. I promise. "

Wow! I got lucky! I went to the closest Chevy dealer wanting an HHR LS in Daytona Blue with no extras... I couldn't decide whether I wanted 5-spd or auto tho... As I pulled into the lot, there were only 2 HHR's, both Daytona Blue LS's with no extras! 1 5-spd, 1 auto! It was just too easy! I drove away with the automatic less than 3 hours later!
