Vacation

Sorry I haven't posted before now, but last week was a mess getting caught back up. DIsney was hot. I'm glad we went, and had the experience, but I found out you don't go to Disney for the rides, you go for the ambiance. I did love Soarin' and Test Track at Epcot; Expedition Everst and the Safari at Animal Kingdom; Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, and the Stunt SHow at Hollywood Studios and the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. I was disappointed with Space Mountain. I had heard all my life how great it was, but after Superman at Six Flags and Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood it was kind of lame. I guess my expectations were too high, but we had fun. How is your niece doing, by the way?

She's coping with it. We rescheduled for Aug.28-Sept.3. We get back the day before she is supposed to start school. We lucked out on the rescheduling ... the difference in the package for that time of year offset the dings from the airline and Disney. Seems that is their 'off' season. Still costing more than if we just booked it at that time, but at least it wasn't anything additional out of pocket.
Re: Spacemountain... keep in mind that thing was built waaaay before all those others. It was the cat's meow in its time.
Glad you had a great time. That is true, Disney is much more than an amusement park and its not all about the rides.

Glad to here she's coping. Yeah, I know it was the cat's meow, but you know how expectations get in your head. We had a great time, but we were all worn out and ready to come back on Sunday. We met with a friend of my wife's while we were there (they moved down a few years ago) and she said they were having a cool spell. My God! It was in the mid 90's.
