I went through the same thing a few years ago with my 2 black labs. They thought the "cat" was a toy. That thing unloaded everywhere. Cleaned the dogs, but the odor permated everything in the house (I couldn't smell it but a few friends did comment). Best thing for the dogs was an enzyme we got at the local Farmer's Exchange designed just for that situation. Perhaps you should look into a local feed store or Agway. The stuff worked great. As for everything else....even though they animal sprayed outside, it gets into things you wouldn't even think of (clothing in the dresser). best bet.....washing and airing. It does go totally away eventually. I wish you well with this one and next time PRAY FOR REAL TURKEYS!

I probably made it seem the 'hood was overrun with them (not the case). It has happened a few times over the past few years - Just the first time for us since we got the dog (about 5 years ago.)

The better half has been doing research. Apparently, the best fix is (beyond not having it happen in the first place) hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish washing soap.

Oh... yea it did sort of sound that way

I personally don't like skunks for obvious reasons. I see no need for them in my environment and thus would have immediately gotten rid of it, but again... That's just me

I am in your court on that one ... but I never had the need to do anything about it before ... As long as they keep their distance, I'm ok with that, but invade my turf and pay the price. I don't care if your $hit DOES stink.
