Went to test drive a Buick Regal GS today

I sat inside it and looked around for a minute talking to the sales guy. I then noticed that the 6 speed manual shifter had a reverse lock-out. I grabbed the shifter, squeezed the lock-out, then slid the shifter into reverse. As I slid it up and into reverse the salesman and myself heard a squeal noise. We both made a comment or two and continued on with our conversation about the car.

I asked if I could test drive it so we went inside so he could get a copy of my license and I could wait inside out of the 104* heat while he brought the car around. When he came around he parked it, came inside, then left with another sales guy but with a box in hand. I thought hmm I did not see anything inside the car that needed to be cleaned out. So I went outside and found him and several other salesmen trying to catch several kittens.

Well now I knew what that squeal was from . Within a few minutes they had 2 in the box. I kept telling them they need to get the car in the air and look for the rest. I never got to test drive the car . I wasn't about to drive the car and have a kitten get hurt or worse. I had already told the sales guy I was going to take off and then out pops another one. Like I said I knew there were more and I was not about to drive this car around knowing they were there.

When I told this story to my gf she asked why I had not brought one home. I asked the car or the cat? She said the cat. Darn I think I would have liked to have brought the car home. We already have 2 cats lol.

Many years ago, my neighbors lost their cat to the under hood area of my '69 olds. Not pretty........

Several years ago, I "killed" one of my cats when a started up my truck. After hollering to my wife for help, I unbolted the fan shroud to retrieve his body.
5 minutes later I was gently sliding him out, when he suddenly opened his eyes!

Now this was always one laid back cat. He just laid there in my arms with a look like "What the heck?"
A trip to the vet revealed a broken toe, lacerations on his legs, and a big knot on his head. One lucky cat.
And, he never slept inside the fan shroud again.

Had friend that found a kitten in the undercarriage of her Buick after about a 20-30 mile drive. He was fine, just scared as can be.
