What bothers me most about her comments is she made them outside of the country. I think she knew those comments would not fly in this country, and especially in front of country music fans here. For me it goes much deeper than just the comments about President Bush, she also made comments about Toby Kieth, and every country music star who wrote or sang a patriotic song. She is not just anti Bush, but anti American, and she has no place in country music.
Were at war to give a country democracy and free speach in a foreign land and thats ok but to have an American exercise that right in a foreign land is not?

She can exercise that right all she wants. I don't have to support her, and I don't. My point is it takes no courage at all to bash our President while in a foriegn country. Let her bash our President in front of a large group of American counrty music fans and she gets a different reaction. I'm all for free speech, and as I said before she has every right to say what she wants, and I have every right to react to her as I see fit. I choose not to suoport what she stands for, and I choose not to listen to her music, or support her in any way, and I won't run to a differnet country to voice my opinion.

I saw them in concert once... I waited in line for 2 hours to buy nose bleed tickets for a girl I use to date. Their music isn't that bad, then again I am not into country music.

Seems as though the term "Country Music" means "Loves America more than any one else" music.
Strange.
Yet, you don`t want to be "Political", Stranger still...

Also the place in country music she has no place in,is that the same country music with the alcoholics, substance abusers, spouse abusers? Every group has it`s sinners and hers is far from the top of the list.
I served and her comment didn`t offend me,I didn`t consider it anti-american,I heard much worse from other artists. I support her right to speak her mind as I support your right to dislike her. I have always felt the true way to protest against someone is to prevent my dollars from making it to their pockets. Name calling only go`s so far but income is everything.

My problem is not her saying she was ashamed to be form the same state as the President, what bothered me is she bashed those artists that sang or wrote patriotic songs, such as Toby Kieth, and that is what is unamerican. She wants to voice her opinion, but wants to deny that right of those who she disagrees with. I agree with you that the best way to deal with this is through the pocketbook, and that is what I do. I support her right to say anything she wants, but I also reserve my right to not listen to her or her music.

I didn't say "loves America more than anyone else". You said that. Don't twist my words. Yes I do normally stay away form political topics, but this one is somthing I feel strongly about, so I decided to post. Looks like in the future I will stay away from these type of topics for this reason. I have nothing else to say on this topic and will let it go.

To voice your opinion is a right of every American, but to use your status as a high profile performer to voice that opinion outside of the country at a time when we had troops in harms way was simply inexcusable. I chose to voice my opinion by never buying their music, or having it played in my home or vehicle...All artists who think that their status as a performer, gives them some right to force feed me their views tend to see the same reaction from me...Simply, I pay you to perform so go sing or dance or act, I'll do my own thinking...
