and I think today's world is turned upside down, few people think it's normal, the phrase about God appeared here for a reason, whoever was the author

trolling...
if it was in my direction (I didn’t quite understand whether it was addressed to me), then it wasn’t even in my thoughts. If the fact that I did not fully quote the phrase sounds offensive - I'm sorry, it didn't come out on purpose.
It's just that the beginning of the phrase is fully related to the situation in the USA, and I was embarrassed to discuss it. I understand this is a sensitive topic. Tried to be tactful.
But the last words concern the whole world, I am part of it, whatever you say. Here I expressed my opinion.
Did it sound offensive or out of place? Sorry again, I didn't want to attack.

Well to be fair, the member who posted original “partial quote” obviously did so for context, that is, so we would know what he was talking about, but was agreeing with (my) entire sentence, presumably. So I suppose you could allow for honest mistakes. (See comment #27. Using the quote function would have made it more obvious that it was a quote.)
Arguing against something that was never said, or a distortion of what was said, or an out-of-context misrepresentation of what was said (i.e., “putting words in someones mouth”,) is commonly done, but it’s not “fighting fair.” An insidious variant of this tactic is to agree with something was never said (typically a distortion of what was actually said) - also putting words in someone else’s mouth.
Civil discourse is more about trying to understand than trying to persuade.

Hence I stay away from these types of discussion! Politics, church and religion, Ford, Chevy or Mopar!
in the end they are turn into ashes or rust, tears and lament.
who said what, and what did he mean are the basis of most arguments.
