The radio guy John Tesh had a thing about the difference between 87 and 93...he said something along the lines of " there really is no difference between them. unless you have a high end performance car, you dont need it"...

I can only think to myself, the HHR SS is an awesome car, but high end performance? I dont think so... But I would not want to be the one responsible for putting 87 in mine

I take it as a warning. As I am running half ethanol with quite a bit more timing advance than stock, KR on 87oct only would be severe. I generally revert back to 91oct tune if someone other than me is driving it. (wife borrowing HHR)
