I'd say if you own a 2006 model. Your a YR 1 owners. I have earned the decal becuase I've been through the dealer warranty issues and only the rear hatch was fixed before I got it.

My definition of a year one vehcile is that it is the first model year of that vehicle. Nothing to do with the owner really.

OK, I said from the beginning of this thread, it was a request.
I know what the original intent of the 'YR-1' concept was/is, because it is my creation. So here goes...
The original theory was, to recognize the people on the site, with a decal, (which I was later told I couldn`t do, because I wasn`t a vendor) and others would just add it to their sig., indicating we were the "First owners of the COOLEST Ride on the Planet" and that the next year was approaching and the ranks would be mixing, it wouldn`t be possible after a couple months to know who was who, sorta like it is now.
So although there`s no real harm done, and I didn`t want it to be a separator 'per sa', it was intended as a semi-designation/badge for those of us who did have first year gremlins, and sorta came up with innovations (like the lower grill made from gutter screen).
So there you have it, straight from the 'Horse`s mouth', (did I just call myself a horse?). B/B

I sort of lean towards it being anyone that bought an '06 "New", whether it was back in 2005, or one still sitting on a dealers lot in 2007!

Yeah, that`s where the distinction blurs, it was the driver not the ride.
Year One Owner, not First Year Model.

Yr-1=owner/driver (Hey, we might actually agree here!)

1st-yr=car

My '07 was built in Oct '06 and I purchased it in Dec '06, therefore, I am a proud "year-2" owner.

Now it makes sense we own a year one but are not year one owners.
