The things with these aggressive upsales is it then puts off the customers and you loose business in the long run. That is why my service manager at that dealership I worked at would ream me a new one if he saw that kind of write up that they gave us. If you want to have STEADY or the possibility of it income you need to keep the customers happy. We have gone there before for other things but we will never ever go back to them again now. I am only one person but I am sure I am/will not be the last person.

I did not even mention that they stated that the car had 60% wear on the front pads, which is close but I think a bit more then the actual, and stated that we should replace them and the rotors. There is no groves, glazing, hotspots or pulsation but they said we needed them all replaced. At 25% I might consider it but when near 50% life left C'MON.

Then they even said that the struts/shocks were REQUIRED to be replaced based on the tires and an alingment for the same reason. The tires have perfect wear on them both inside and outside and the car drives perfectly straight and the steering wheel is dead center. These guys sell tires so they should have a clue as to actual wear indicators for shocks/strusts as well as alignment issues. Especially since the two do not create the same irregular wear patters as one another. Again C'MON Big O.

Yep these are short term ways to make money but the dealer loses in the end. I think some do this as they move job to job so often they only look for the short term gains.

Very timley read

New member here from Virginia (and new adoptive owner of a 2009 2LT with 30,000 on the clock). I have been reading, with interest, all of the posts about our great little vehicle and am impressed with the level of knowledge you all are sharing with each other. I hope I will be able to contribute something of substance in the future.
(By the way, I only use injector cleaner,Sea Foam or Lucas, if the tank of fuel I mix it with will be gone within a day or so. It stands to reason that a product that's main purpose is to clean injectors wouldn't necessarily benefit other portions of the fuel system.

Thanks for the Forum to all that contribute.
