I'm guessing they used a cheap fabric.

I've never had luck with cloth seats....

First car I bought 64 chevy biscayne, somebody cuts in front of me, I steer quick and lose the head of my cigarette. I pull over try to find it to no avail... half hour later my seat is on fire....

Brand new 87 olds firenza, wife stops at Wendys and buys a stuffed potato and puts bag on the passenger seat, huge grease stain that never really came out..

If I had cloth seats now I would most likely invest in seat covers....

my kids leave messes all the time, I just use oxy clean and warm water, and the seats are good as new

Rubber seats with catch basins underneath, like the catch pans on a bbq grill!
Or..how about Sham-Wow seat covers!!

the spots come from anything...even rain water from when you get in or out of the car in the rain...it sucks how gm used crappy seat covers..and i didnt want leather cuz i live on florida were its only cold 2 months out of the year...

as far as what you would use to get the spots out beats me, i work at a dealership were the detail guys use stuff..
