cooling system flush

Smile cooling system flush

I'm going to have my cooling system flushed. do you think it's a good idea to have the thermostat changed also?. thanks in advance. len

I would as long as they replaced it with a factory thermostat.

X2 Len, these Trucklets are happiest with OEM parts.

And make sure the flushing agents they plan on using are "Aluminium Friendly", use of the wrong chemicals will turn your Ecotec engine into a really expensive boat anchor.

Yes GM Tstat is a must!! Make sure they flush the heater core also!!!! And they only use Dexcool!!! Or it could be a marine parking brake!!

Ooh, "Marine Parking Brake", I quite like that!

And X2 to Oldblue's advice on the heater core, make sure you turn the cabin temp knob to Full Hot before you give them the keys.

And when you get the HHR back park it nose high! To allow any residual air to burp out as it cools over night!

Nose high, or ask if they have the equipment to pull a vacuum on the cooling system.
