Just be aware spraying with clearcoat means you have to deal with it when it fails. Its a lot easier to polish out a lens without anything that has been applied. My advice is polish them then apply a good uv protectant.I have had great luck with the Meguires product but every company makes a uv protectant these days. There are alot of benefits and no chance of paint failure.Even if I forget to protect them for a while it's way easier to polish them then removing a failing clearcoat.

^^^What he said. Just use the UV coating and it should be fine. Once it wears off, it's just a simple case of a light sanding and re-coat. I can imagine dealing with clear coat would be real hassle once it fails.
I sprayed my headlights with UV 2X clear coat , very disappointing, it dryer hazy and looked terrible, I sanded them back down and buffed and polished the plastic lenses, 6 months later, they are just starting to look old again.

You guys keep buffing and applying the coating every year or two, I'll spray on the clearcoat and be done for 20 years.
Good and interesting debate on this thread. Lots of opinions. This video provides a very informative in-depth comparison of all the major headlamp restoration kits available. Worth watching if you're looking to restore/polish up your headlamp lenses.
