We took it to the dealer to get an oil change and the day after we noticed it dripping some kind of liquid. So we take it in and they said that it is water from the ac dripping? The picture shows that it is not water, unless water is brownish in color, so what fluid is it.

 

Could be DexCool or ATF.

You should be able to see where the drops are.

The A/C drains from a black rubber hose on the firewall passenger side.

DexCool most likely place would be the overflow bottle, when they do oil changes they usually fill the fluids. The overflow bottle should only have an inch or so when cold, they usually "top it up" to the top (overfill).

 

It is not coming from a hose it seems to be coming from the area behind the lower motor mount, the big light grey area.

 

that circled area looks like ATF. Has it been changed lately?

Don't try to tighten the bolt without a torque wrench 12Nm/106 lb inch! If you do you will bend the cover and make it worse.

That is also where oil would drip if the tech spilled it in either the fill or the filter or didn't tighten the filter cap correctly.

I can't think of any other fluids on the vehicle. Is it oily to the touch, or water? The paper towel looks like dirty water, probably #7 or #8, possibly #6 if you only have water in the washer reservoir. Could even be #3, but I wouldn't think you'd be running just straight water without Dex-Cool.

 

Too bad you had to flip your HHR over to show us the spot!

Donbrew has listed the likely sources. There are coolant sources right above there, too. Coolant has a very slight stickiness to it, tho, so you may be able to rule that out. But since they just changed the oil, I would first think it was that. Keep a close eye on the oil level with the dipstick. The dipstick has 2 sides, if it is only registering on 1 side, then it's low. You'll want to check the transmission fluid, too, in case it's that. That's not quite as simple.
