I had the same problem, I re-soldered mine and replaced the buttons with one I purchased from e-bay. The fob was working great, then it stopped working again. I took it apart, cleaned the contacts and once again it was fine. However, my son borrowed the car and reported that the key fob wouldn't work. Soooo, not really sure what the problem is, the battery clip is still soldered tight. I ended up grabbing my spare key fob (which works... for now) to use.

Hey Art, try replacing the key pad, sometimes cleaning the contacts doesn't last long.
