Offset socket to torque struts

In order to torque down the struts on my 2006 HHR LT the proceedure calls for an offset socket to be used so you can put a T-45 bit through the middle to hold the strut and torque the top bolt down under the hood. What have people been doing to get a good torque on this nut? I cant seem to find the socket anywhere.

Thanks

Check with your local auto parts store like AutoZone or Advance, they have tool rental/loan deals to get you the right socket.

I just grabbed the strut shaft with vice grips wrapped in a rag. If youre careful not to squeeze to hard it works ok.

It is a Kent Moore tool I just used one at work yesterday to put together some Cobalt struts.
