Oh gosh... ... but what you don't see is all the OTHER times I have used the search before I stuck my neck out there. I even warned a noob just now about it because I had ALREADY FOUND THEM and felt silly ENOUGH... ... There's a night's reading there!

I change my oil at home, and I'll tell you the HHR is the easiest car I have ever changed the oil on. First off you need a 1 1/4 inch socket, 6 inch extension, and a 15mm socket. You'll want to remove the filter before draining the oil. As you remove the cap for the filter housing (on the front of the engine), you'll need to break it loose and then take it the rest of the way off by hand, as the socket will become lodged and you won't be able to remove the cap. The filter is snapped on the cap. Then just drain your oil, and fill er up and your done. I can easily reach the plug without raising the car, which is a bonus. Good luck and enjoy your new HHR!

Oh yea, to the club.
