How do you replace fan belt on an 06 HHR? Is it hard to do? Thanks

Difficulty is subjective. I read the previous threads before attempting to change mine and after an hour of f'ing around i determined i did not have the right tool to get it done. the 3/8" hole on my 06 faces the block and is under the engine mount on the drivers side of the car. I had a tool fabbed up with a 3/8" square (like a fixed wratchet) to try it out. A standard wratchet is too big to fit between the block and tensioner.

K&D makes a great tool for serpentine belts. Don't know if any parts stores loan or rent it but it makes belt replacement simple. When you replace the belt, replace the tensioner too to avoid trouble later.

WOW !!! The Belt is on the pass side.. a 3/8" breaker-bar will fit it fine.
