Like stated, when was the last time you heard of an oil related failure on a motor.

But, if you did have one, no it would not be covered under warranty. But that is a very big if.

And when would you have an engine failure during the powertrain 5/100k warranty? Never. It'd take more than 5 years for that much damage to happen...

I like my Castrol Edge just fine,just used it for the second time the end of January,plus K+N oil filter this time. Runs real good.

There were some talk or rumors that Mobil 1 sued Castrol Edge for it's claim of being 8X better than M1......

Don't know the outcome of that dealio ?

Rumor has it they compared to mobile one oil ( reg oil ) and not the true synthetic....they won't make the same claim against the extended service M1 oils....and that M1 actually now uses a cheaper oil to stay competitive with Castrol because of this claim....because this oil can be classified as a synthetic when in actallty it isnt...the real deal M1 has been moved up to the EXT SERV oils........rumors and grumblings
