rusty door seams
rusty door seams
recently i took my wagon into the body shop for some rust "damage control", (rear bottom of rear doors) and inside of all four doors at the lower seams.
now, a month later the seams look as if they were never touched.
is there a product (rust "killer" that can be squirted into the drain holes) to stave off having to do major surgery on the doors for several years perhaps?

My dealership is redoing my driver's door next Monday.
Body shop manager told me when they addressed the rust in 2011, "you'll never have to worry about rust again ", he now says he has a conscience so he will repair it again.

I went through the same thing on my 2009-had a 2008 with no issues, looked like the seam was treated differently from the factory. After the first winter they all started to rust. Dealer did a crap job, looked good for a month or so, then back with a vengeance. I used some POR15 last fall. Probably the best option.
No such issues on my 2008 LT or 2011 LT.
I think the way doors are made is at fault. The skin is applied to the frame basically (simplified) by bending the metal over, thus cracking any protection that may have been applied to the inside of the panel.
The only real way to repair and prevent future problems is to re-skin the doors and be sure a good preventative is applied before the bend over is done.
