Should it stay or should it go?

Hello all. I have a 2011 LT. It has about 150,000 miles on it, 75,000 of which are mine. The car has some transmission problems, overheats going up a steep hill, and intermittently has the gauges bobbing up and down. Realistically, am I going to get much more mileage out of it if I put money into fixing it?

Most get more than 300,000 miles, if the owner cares enough to do regular maintenance.

You have a lot more to go with a bit of work here and there.

The gauges are most likely because the fuse box bolts need to be tightened. If the bolts feel "tight enough" give them some more.

I’m at 186,000 miles on my 2011, I put 400,000 on my 2007. So you’ll be wise to change the Dexcool, install a new AC Delco 131-158 thermostat, and change out the timing chain and balance shaft chain and water pump. A small investment for another 150,000 miles. Your transmission problems could be related to those fuse box bolts
