Starter interchange

So I have a 2006 hhr and was wondering about a starter...as in what other vehicle has the same one?

Sounds like you're heading to a wrecking yard... ahem... auto parts recycler.. They will have all the interchange information.

I moved this from the SS thread , the starter is pretty common to many cars that had the Ecotec engine, Saabs, Pontiacs, Saturns, Oldsmobiles, and Cobalts Chevy

If you can but it’s gonna be a 16 year old starter , why not get a rebuilt starter?

I don't know why year would make a difference. My guess is even a 2022 4 cylinder Ecotec would work, maybe even 6 cylinder. They variables are mounting, direction of rotation and diameter/ number of teeth on the gear.
Since we know you have internet access, you could check the part numbers at any online GM parts department.

I know the 2011 hhr has the same starter as the 2006, so at least it’s 5 years newer.
