From what I gathered its also how much RPM the motor sees so if you got a slush box like mine its gonna be a while before i need to worry. Just hit 80k and going strong.

Mine started making some chain noise around 400,000 km or 250,000 miles. I swapped in a newish motor at 485,000 km and the noise had started to make me worry (a motor with 65,000 km was only $400.00 ).
Just turned 600,000 km today (375,000 miles)

My Timing Chain has Failed at 51000 miles and with no noise or other warning. I was getting P0172 Bank1 Rich codes just before it slipped. So i am sure I will start having it checked at 50000 Mile intervals.

Red 2011 2Lt 2.4 Sport Suspension 51000 miles.

Your chain failed or did the guides fail?
