I start with the rims. I use Mothers or Meguires rim cleaner. Spray on and hose off. Then clean top to bottom with Mothers car soap, rims last with a wash mitt. Then I use a chamois to dry. I have the "Final Coat" protectant on the paint so I am not allowed to wax. But it is guarenteed for 5 yrs. The bug guts still stick a bit. The brushed aluminum is a pain, wish I had the chrome! I use auto glass cleaner on it! I do all the rubber/vinyl with Mothers protectant, and lastly the glass/aluminum.
I have not seen any opinions on chamois, but have been doing cars with them for 20 years, am I being too "old school"?

If they use an auto, there putting in scratches, marring and swirls. Put a 1000 watt or a 500 watt halogen lamp next to the paint. You'll see. If you can live with it from what it looks like in daylight, then great. Over time scratches, marring, swirls and other things such as containments dull the finish. They don't reflect light so basically you loose the shine.

Be careful drying after a no touch wash. Since its no touch, there is nothing gliding over the paint to help remove dirt and debris so when you go to dry, you'll just drag what the no touch didn't get across your paint. Which will = marring and swirls.
