Weird Tire Ware

Weird Tire Wear
I bought some fairly high dollar Bridgestones a little over 45K miles ago.
They have been rotated ever 6k and now the fronts are down to 6/32nds(55%) and the rear are at 6/32nds(27%). The front tires must really wear big time when they are on there.
Discount Tire would not put the two new ones on the front as there policy is to install the best tires on the rear,(even though the back ones have over 50% of the thread left) which I understand the concept due to understeer/oversteer.
I went to another independent store and had them put two new ones on the front as I figure they will probably catch up with the back ones. I am going to buy an Elantra GT or CX5 in July or August then and it will not be my problem.
Just seems like a strange wear problem.(I have always kept them at 35#.

Not really understanding the weird part you're refering to. The fronts will wear faster on a front wheel drive car. They do all the work:steering, accelerating, more braking than rears. The only thing the rear tires do is hold the back of the car up.
If it's mostly city driving, 45k miles on some tires would be acceptable.

how is 6/32 55% on the front but 27% on the rear? If they have been regularly rotated, how do 2 wear more than the other 2, and how do you identify front/rear? Am I missing something.
Why replace tires at 27% left?
Why not keep them at 32 psi, like the official recommendation?
Is the ware (sic) straight across, or only one side both sides only center.
What is the mileage guarantee of the tires?
I just don't understand the question. I guess I'm getting slow witted in my old age, so many questions, not enough data.

First off I couldn't edit the title once I posted.Wear instead of ware.
Should have been 3/32nds(27%) on front and 6/32nds(55%) on rear.
There is only a slight ridge between the wear bar and the thread and you can see all of Lincoln's head when placing a penny in the thread(which if you are old enough to remember this was an acceptable way to measure thread ware in the old days).
The official recommendation for an 09 HHR with 215/50R17s is 35PSI all the way around.
The ware is perfectly straight across.
60K Warranty.
I guess is was not so much a question as a mild rant.
Sorry if I confused you.
Most of the driving was on the open highway all over the US in the last 3 and a half years. A total of 85,000 of it.

You did not mention 17 inch rims.
If you have 27% left of 60,000 after 45,000, then I am still confused, that seems about right.
I still don't know the differentiation of front/rear if they have been rotated regularly, must be a some point you carried a lot more or less cargo between rotations.
I am old enough to remember Lincoln's final haircut

Hey, I had the same issue, but was told that if you edit a post and go advanced....you can change the title.
