Okay here is my latest I contacted Galena, Illinois, Peoria, Illinois and Wisconsin Dells Convention and Visitors Bureaus today looking for their involvement, financial support and packages designed to convince us to bring a run of this size to their areas today, so we are waiting to hear from them later this week. I have used August as a general time frame, but could use suggestions for the actual dtaes ASAP...I will have a report every Saturday from this point on and updates anytime news comes out that would keep everyone interested. Mike do you have anything that we need to talk about yet with Branson? I am avaliable at work 309 578-3371, home 309 682-6844 or pms here or e-mails at scaleguy61@hotmail.com. Does anyone else have any suggetsions that need to be looked into, locations, dates, activities that you would like to see, all requests like this are appreciated and will be evaluated and investigated...I will try to have final location descriptions ready for a vote by October 1, 2006, but everyone please keep an eye on this site for info...I have used a figure of 50-100 HHRs to attend this event as a target, so we have our work cut out to bring 'em in !!! Yippeeeeeeeeee!

I've mentioned it before on the national meet thread that CJ had going that I think Kansas City would make an excellent meeting ground. Central to the whole country just about and should be plenty to do. Branson would also be fairly central for folks as well. Just thought I would throw KC into the ring though.

I just hope others like WA and Your self give SCALEGUY and GDZHHR input, This is what they have been asking for. Can you see it now 50+ HHR's parked in the Lot at the Hotel. You will need a wide angle Lense on your camera. I think a lot more Information will be discussed on the 21st and In-put will be given by all. I just want to have fun and EAT a lot of food at the BBQ, I hope this BBQ turns out to be Big.

Later
a 2-4 day with travel time added, would be fine with me. as long as lodging costs were reasonable, I haven't tried sleepng in the back of a hhr yet. has anyone else???

Table Rock Lake/Branson/Eureka Springs

Bonnie and I are putting a proposal together and should have it ready this week-end.

Basically what we're planning is a Thur-Sun event in Shell Knob, MO. It is a small country town right on Table Rock Lake. about 45 minutes from Branson and Eureka Springs.

We're thinking arrivals Thursday day/night. maybe a run to Eureka Springs, there's a cool little go-kart track there!

Friday we will have time for people to fish, rent boats, jet ski's whatever on the lake. A run to Branson late afternoon or if we have enough people we could have one to Eureka Springs also. Both places have lots to do.

Saturday there is a facility that would run around $20 with a large pavilion, playground, tennis/volleyball courts and a parking lot that will handle 150+. Lots of shade. Perfect for the show/shine/BBQ/picnic. Then that early evening we've got a GREAT run planned. 30-40 miles, lots of cool turns and hills and at least two spots for photo ops.

Sunday, breakfast and drive home.

I've got contact info for 4 car clubs in the area to find a couple of cruise-ins we could hit. also be contacting the Chamber of Commerce.

There's is a great campground run by the Corp. with all levels of sites. These can be reserved by a group up to a year in advance. There are also several resort/lodges in the area. Most of these are family run and are not fancy. Clean and reasonable. Camping would be $12-16, this includes sites with water and elect., yes there are showers too. The lodge/resorts run $60-100+. It all depends on how close you want to be to the lake.

More specific details to follow.

If ya got any questions or suggestions, let me know.

This will give all of you an idea of where Shell Knob is. Branson is about a 30-45 minute drive east. I know this is about as far south in our region as it gets, but it would be a blast. Its not a tourist trap and would definately be fun for the whole family.

BTW, we're planning for August. September would be way cool because Shell Knob has a festival and a car show, but school will have started so we know this would be tough for parents.

I think it's going to be hard to pick where to go exactly when all of the proposed sites are put before us! I've been to all of the places they are getting info for and they are all neat places to go to, each with neat things to do. We'll know pretty soon though, the info will all be put before us by the end of September and then we'll get to vote! Can't wait!!!
