All,
I have received an e-mail from Rudy and the diagnosis is Cancer, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, to be more exact...please keep Rudy and the family in your thoughts and prayers.
I have asked Rudy to consider allowing his friends to hold a fund raiser in his honor so plans are awaiting his okay...We will ask for a moment of prayer at the opening of the show tomorrow and again during church Sunday...I will do this and keep in touch with Rudy with every attempt to keep his spirits high and let him know that his friends are close...
Those of you who know him, realize that he is a fighter and he will give this diagnosis a battle...He mentioned that talking is difficult so I will e-mail until he says otherwise...

My Amigo Z!!!
I have not posted in almost a year but this Thread I had to post in.
Let me tell you guys about my friend Rudy, Z-Man, My Amigo.
If you have not met Rudy, you really don't know what you are missing. I am going to tell you. I can, without question say that Rudy is the best person I have ever met in my life. Period, Bar None. He is a person I have always and will always look up too. (no pun intended) He will give and give and give and never ask in return. He will not come if you call, he will run when you call. He is a friend, a true friend and for that I am forever gratefull. I sometimes think that I let my friend down by selling my HHR, I wish I would have kept it just so I could spend more time with My friend. But that has not kept us from still being friends. We have still been able to get together. It was the HHR that started our friendship.
Anyone can be a nice, friendly person on a forum or the internet. But let me tell you, He is the real deal. I just wanted you all to know what type of a person he really is. Rudy is Number 1.
If you have not seen a picture of him, well this is very close.
The Z-Man knows my thought as I have been talking to him regularly.
He will beat this, I know he will.
I thank all of you for keeping him in your thought and prayers. Please don't stop the world needs people like Rudy and there is not many of them that I can promise you!!

LLB great to see you are still around. Hope to see you at the run for Z-Man. He is one of the best of the best to know as a friend . But then again, you already know that just like the rest of us. Our prayers are going strong for Z-Man. Hope to see you soon.

I talked to him a week ago Friday... he was back to work for one last week before taking an extended leave of absence. We were going to try to meet up after work but I think his co-workers were throwing him a gig.
He's facing a tough road but sounds like he is at peace with it as much as he can be. I only hope he'll reach out to us all for companionship or assistance as needed.
