I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Rudy, but sounds like a good person. I would be interested in a Rudy Run. I read a previous post and haven't heard anything since.

He had to have two more operations and has been ordered not to talk for a few days. They are waiting for the results from these tests as of Tuesday was going to see the docs again on Thursday.

We're trying to set a few things up for him and his family but are waiting until he can tell us what he's willing to let us do and what he will be able to do. Got a couple ideas brewing for fund raisers and a possible run to the navy pier or anywhere close to him for a lunch g2g.

Go to his CP and check postings. Told us he has cancer and had some surgery. He's in everyone thoughts and prayers. Sounds like a real class guy and is extremely positive, and that will be a great help.

Got a Rudy Newsletter in the e-mail today.

He's going through some rough times and has a hard road ahead but he's facing it with courage and an upbeat outlook. I'd like to hope that I would be able to have the same optimism if I was in his shoes.

Mike... if you do end up doing something for a Rudy run, please PM me directly as I have a habit of missing general posts until it's too late.

Thanks,
Tom

Rudy update 10-22-08

Had a brief email from Rudy today. He started his chemo on Monday (or as he puts it, his E-85!) He had a 6-1/2 hour session then was hooked up to a pump that will keep him fueled up with chemo 24/7 until Friday. He will get 2 weeks off chemo but will have to get a shot everyday. After the 2 weeks he will go through the 6-1/2 hour session and Monday-Friday pump again.

Last night at about 7 he said he discovered a new "Best Friend"! He has been having some, "Backfiring" from the chemo and it's really "wiping" him out! He and the old "porcelin goddess" have been having some pretty intimate meetings! He told it a bit different but told me I could pass it on with my "humor" as he is kinda low on that right now!

Please keep Rudy in your thoughts and prayers, he is one of our own. Anyone wanting his snail mail address for sending something that way, pm me and I promise to get it to you asap!

In hope to cheer Good ole Da Z up, I have a pic to show his antics with a little help from Stubby and Stevflo on left taken at the Kicks run 2007 at the Dells

And we cannot forget Rudy bailing Stubby out of jail after Stubbys night out on the town with the "Ladies"
