Yeah, this sucks, I would love to meet you all, But having to get back for Thanksgiving. I do not have much time to play. I would have loved for you to put a new valve cover on my car, as my local guy wants $200 to put yours on for me. But such is life. I will order my black powdercoated valve cover when I get back! Have a great time, and think of all your so cal buddies when you are chowing down on that chili!! Todd (Uma)
At the last HHR bar-b-que get together we even did an install session where Mike talked me through the install of my white and red powdercoated install... it wasn't as bad as I thought... not a drop of oil lost... I was even wearing white...
Here a thread and pictures from the last bash we had at Mike and Bonnie's house in June 2007...

Big Kahuna, I saw that when he did it..It's awesome!! I am going to get one myself, can't decide about Black or silver, but I know I want the red writing on it. One question? Do you steam clean the engine or what? I am paranoid about spraying water in the engine compartment. Any suggestions? Todd (Uma)

I have not had to spray or steam clean the engine yet but use a bit of degreaser on soft cloth and patience... A bit more work with all the white under the hood but well worth the results when it's clean. I try to keep up with it on a regular basis to prevent lots of build up so the cleanings are easier...
I think black or silver with red letters would look great on your black HHR valve cover.
