cool, thanks sleeper. I will keep that in mind! i plan on keeping the HHR for a while, and down the road, putting some more money into it, but for now the axle back should do!

Easy in, easy out!

There was no doubt that I wanted my first mods to be a different air cleaner system & a full exhaust. I've always done this with my vehicles.
I went with the MagnaFlow cat-back & I am very happy with my decision. It was a bit pricey but well worth the sound & perf gains. And it looks cool! Good quality product all around so far.
I looked at axle-backs too but for the price it didnt seem worth it. For a few dollars more you get a full stainless system with the front muffler (resonator). This sound cant be dupicated by just a muffler hanging off the back.
I got the Airaid Intake & it adds it's own unique sound (howl) to the whole party.
I'd always been taught that for best performance, it's best to let it breathe! Both in & out!

My HHR is at 77,080 miles and my exhaust manifold is cracked. I haven't decided on which header to buy and I'm getting mixed reviews on the topic. Some say the gains aren't worth it, but in my situation I have to replace it. I'm not just trying to gain HP. I am curious about changing the downpipe w/cat since those are prone to failure since I will be down there replacing the manifold.

Will adding a performance downpipe and header without the performance muffler hurt or cause the exhaust modifications to kinda cancel each other out? I could do without the loud "import" muffler sound but from what I've seen it's hard to get away from that sound with a 4-cl.

-Or would it be best to just replace with OEM? Like I said I'm not aiming for adding HP, but if I can by purchasing aftermarket instead of OEM that would be cool.

I was told that the manifold wasn't covered. It guess I need to look at that list of what's covered one more time. Thanks
